San Jose, Calif - August 25, 2008
American audiences will get a sneak peak of a revolutionary 3D social networking service platform coming to the U.S. next year. Nurien Software, a leading developer and operator of social networking and online gaming services, today announced its participation at NVISION 08, a first-of-its-kind visual computing mega-event, happening from August 25 to 27 in San Jose, Calif.
NVIDIA CEO, Jen-Hsun Huang, will deliver the keynote address on the latest innovations and trends in visual computing with a special highlight of Nurien's next-generation platform. Nurien co-founder, Taehoon Kim, will also unveil the firm's stunning visuals, user-created 3D avatars, and interactive social applications in his own presentation during the "Emerging Companies Summit" track on Day 2 of the conference.
“Nurien is going to take online social networking to the next level with 3D realism and interactivity," said Taehoon Kim, co-founder of Nurien Software. “Advances in visual computing are dramatically changing the way people express themselves, play games, and interact with one another in virtual worlds. As the first company to apply next-generation physics technology to a 3D social network service, our audiences will experience dynamic, realistic effects like hair twirling, cloth movements, and lively character movements on our service. We're proud to enhance our user’s visual experience in a truly interactive social 3D environment."
In a strategic collaboration, Nurien chose NVIDIA graphics and PhysX technology to deliver a powerful visual experience in which users create 3D objects and avatars and participate in entertaining gaming and social activities online. Nurien is revolutionizing the online social networking experience with visually-arresting, dynamic, and realistic 3D technology.
Consumers today expect a full and engaging visual experience online. Nurien’s current next-generation 3D entertainment applications include Mstar, a dance game; Runway, a fashion design game; and Quizstar, a celebrity trivia contest. Each game combines natural, realistic movements with high-quality animation effects built on NVIDIA PhysX technology. Within the next year, Nurien will also introduce new social and gaming applications that will boost interaction among users much like the social activities that people are used to doing with friends in the real world.
"As video games continue to reflect pop culture, Nurien Software is transforming online social experiences with elements of pop music, hot dance moves, and state-of-the art video game graphics powered by NVIDIA,” said Roy Taylor, vice president of content relations for NVIDIA. “Applications such as Mstar illustrate the future of next-generation 3D social networking.”
